Frequently asked questions

Are all glerups products Cradle to Cradle Certified®?

No — not all glerups products are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze 4.1.

glerups adult slip-ons, shoes and boots, in sizes 35-51 are covered by the certification. They are made from 100% pure natural wool with either soft calfskin or FSC® certified natural rubber soles.

Children’s sizes, accessories and special editions are not part  of the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze 4.1 certification.

What does ISO certification mean?

glerups is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified – covering our entire production in Romania.

SO 9001 focuses on quality – stable processes, clear responsibilities and continuous improvement. ISO 14001 focuses on environment – managing impact and working systematically to reduce it over time. Together, these certifications help ensure consistent quality, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement throughout our production. This step builds naturally on our Cradle to Cradle certification, which has already shaped how we work with materials and responsibility.

Which glerups are FSC® Certified?

glerups adult slippers sizes 35-51 (slip-ons, shoes and boots) are made from 100% Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified pure sheep wool with a sole of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified rubber and are listed in the Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Registry.

What does FSC® rubber mean?

FSC® Certified rubber means that glerups rubber soles are made with responsibly sourced natural rubber. The natural rubber used in the sole comes from forests that are certified according to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

In practice, this means the natural rubber can be traced back to responsibly managed forests and other controlled sources. FSC certification helps support responsible forest management worldwide and contributes to efforts to address climate and biodiversity challenges.

The FSC® Certification applies specifically to the natural rubber used in the sole.
