Our different slipper types

Welcome to the comfy world of glerups! For more than 30 years, glerups has been providing people all over the world with house shoes that enhance their everyday comfort. Made with a lovely woolblend, you and your feet are in for a treat when purchasing these slippers. Allow us to guide you through our different types of slippers and hopefully help you decide on which style you would like to try.

The wool – the common denominator

All our slippers have one thing in common – they are all made with felted wool, which makes them incredibly soft against the skin. The wool is packed with natural benefits, which make them suitable for everyone at any age. This wool has an unique ability to keep the feet warm on cold days, but is also able to keep them cool and comfy on warm days, as the wool is naturally temperature regulating. It also absorbs moisture, meaning that sweaty feet are a thing of the past.

Other slippers in synthetic materials tend to irritate the skin, when the slippers are worn for too long. The wool used for glerups slippers, a durable material, has a molecular structure, which is very close to human skin. This helps the skin breathe, while wearing the slippers, making the feet healthier than they would be in indoor slippers in another material.

A natural design

Another thing these slippers have in common is the way they are shaped. The slipper form follows the foot’s natural curve, making the foot relax better and preventing the toes from being squeezed together. The design of the slippers also offer a great sense of arch support, making it extremely comfortable to wear these slippers as both indoors shoes and outdoor shoes, even for an extended period of time.

The ordinary slipper

Our ordinary slipper is a slip-on model, easy to put your feet in first thing in the morning or the moment you come home from work. Some even have a pair of these slippers at work, making the work day a lot more comfortable and relaxed. With the simple aesthetics and in colors inspired by nature, these slippers will easily fit into your wardrobe. Whether you prefer using them at home for quiet moments or as a part of a casual expression, when you are out running errands or just relaxing.

The slipper shoe

These slippers are made in a moccasin style, meaning they have a closed heel, giving the slipper a slightly better grip on the foot. This makes these slippers a perfect fit for those, who like to do things while unwinding. Whether it be gardening, going to your favorite coffee shop or other outdoor activities, or cleaning, tidying up or creative projects around the house. The slipper shoes are also bought by people, who travel frequently, as they are perfect for wearing on long flights or when a camp has been set up after a long day of hiking, when the feet tend to need a break.

The boot slipper – the original glerups slipper

When the first pair of glerups were made, it was in this style. The boot slipper goes just above the ankle, making it the slipper that has the best grip on the foot. This makes this type of slipper especially appreciated by toddlers and elderly alike. The way the boot has a firm grip on the foot, helps the wearer to feel stabilized and more secure when walking. These slippers are also beneficial for those, whose feet are sensitive to the cold. Since the boots are high cut compared to the other slippers, they reach above the ankle, helping your feet to withstand the cold even better.

The two types of soles

Once you decide which type would be the best slippers for you, you need to choose which sole you want. If you are looking for slippers to be used primarily as outdoor wear, you should opt for the natural rubber sole, which can withstand the outdoors. Are you the type, who prefers spending your leisure time inside, reading, watching tv or doing small chores around the house, we recommend the leather sole. Both are equally comfortable and help you feel secure in your steps all day.

Not just slippers – the Langdal

If you are not totally convinced that you are the type of person who would enjoy wearing slippers, but you are curious about the immense sense of comfort that comes with wearing glerups, you don’t have to miss out. For years there has been a demand for a “real shoe” from us and we are proud to introduce you to our shoe, The Langdal. Made from the same principle as the slippers, being friendly towards the environment and with a minimum of waste, these shoes are everything and more.

Fashion with passion

Since glerups began as a hobby that grew into something bigger, the philosophy behind it has always been clear. Everything must be made in a way that is kind towards people, animals and nature. We like to say that our slippers are made with ethical elegance, meaning that we only use natural materials, strive for quality without compromise and make sure that we also have a responsible approach to production of our footwear.

For you as a consumer this means that not only are you guaranteed a product that lives up to a very high standard; you are also expressing a desire to live in an ethical way, taking responsibility for yourself and the way you shop.

Due to the natural materials used in making footwear this way, it also means that they are more durable than other types of slippers. This means that the slippers will not need to be replaced as often as others do, provided you take the time to follow the easy instructions on how to maintain your slippers.
