In 1970, glerups founder Nanny Glerup took a class in making slippers with felted wool. Back then, the idea of self-sufficiency was on a rise and Nanny made a lovely pair of house shoes for her husband, Ove. He liked the shoes so much that he practically wore them everywhere. This sparked an idea, which became a philosophy – and the rest, as they say, is history.
